About Harry Potter
Harry Potter and the subsequent series of books were written by J.K. Rowling, who helped to make them incredibly popular and successful.
The books were adapted into massive Hollywood movies and then plenty of merchandise, spin-offs and more.
Despite being books targeted to an audience for children, adults love the series too with its magical nature, great characters and brilliant storyline.
The story revolves around a young orphan called Harry Potter, whose parents were wizards at Hogwarts – a school for wizardry. However, when Harry was a baby – a rogue and evil wizard named Voldemort murdered them.
Interestingly though, he could not bring himself to do the same with Harry. Instead, he left him with his famous lightning shaped scar on his forehead, and gained the moniker “the boy who lived”.
One day, a groundskeeper called Hagrid travels to Harry’s home – where he was residing with his mean aunt, uncle and cousin.
He gives him birthday wishes and takes him with him to Hogwarts, to start a journey he would never forget and fulfill his destiny.
